HEAR WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

We can't fix the problem with an income tax.
- Paul S.

I say NO to the idea of a city income tax! I am not sure what you are thinking, but if you need an example of what a city income tax will do take a look at Detroit. Our property taxes are already higher than Ann Arbor's, that is driving people out of our area and now you are thinking a city income tax! Who do you think will remain in the city after you do this? I vote, and I will vote against you in the next election if you are foolish enough to do this.
- M.S.

I am opposed to the proposal for a city income tax and will vote against (or support a recall of) any city official who supports it.
- G.B.

It will do more harm than good and is not fair to put another tax on the hard working families that are trying to eke out a decent living in this city. I will be retiring soon and I'm starting to wonder if I can afford to even stay in Michgan let alone Ypsilanti.
- T.C.

The situation Ypsilanti is in today is tragic but not uncommon. Please find the courage to make the necessary reductions in your spending to correct the problems , just as so many families must do...Should you go forward with your taxation scheme, I will not set foot in another ypsilanti business.
- B.S.

Michigan's economy is in shambles, and taxing people is not the way to fix the problem...I for one will tell all my neighbors to oppose any plans of such a tax.
- T.P.

The residents of Ypsilanti elected you in good faith based on your records of dedication and responsibility. I hope that you don't let us down by implementing a city income tax that would damage the financial outlook of this city and its residents and businesses.
